Sustainable Homes

A Sustainable development is one that works to ensure a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come.

Roof

The roof involves an overall u-value of 0.13Wm2K which includes the sustainably sourced roofing tiles increased wool insulation and modern breathing apparatus to maintain sustainability of modern construction.

Smart Home Pack

Where applicable the dwellings have access to a smart home pack that in variation of specification have the ability to regulate and decrease (already 2kg of Carbon Dioxide per Metre squared per year less than other new homes). There is the ability to include wireless connectivity to smart phones actively enable home use ease.

Doors

With a u-value minimum of 1.1 W/m2K more than 45% below the specified minimum for all new homes.

Floors

All floors have added insulation for the floors have a minimum of 0.12 w/m2K U value list more than double the recommended level.

Air Tight

Due to the manufacturing process the consistency of a controlled building space means the air tightness meet a minimum of 2.5 m3/hr/m2 at 50Pa.

Dwelling Fabric

As standard Archerfield Homes place a minimum of 120mm to 130mm of wool insulation.

Windows

All homes are at a minimum 1.4W/m2K u-value coupled to the norm for most sites having triple glazing to lower this u-value further.

Solar Panels

Where possible all Archerfield Homes dwellings have PV panels often placed as roof tiles not on top of the tiles as most often seen. This means that there is often an air sourced heat pump within the dwelling.

Walls

The walls have multiple methods to ensure a properly functioning house that both retains heat and energy. With multiple layers including, insulation layers, sheathing board, breathing membrane and a render attached to further insulation.
